The Oasis Modular Heating System is a new and innovative solution to the Class A Motor home, Luxury Coach RV customers requiring a full-featured hydronic heating system. The Oasis system consists of two principle components; The Heating Module and The Distribution Module.

The Heating Module provides the heat to the modular system and is available in two models the CH35(pending) and CH50. These units have net heat outputs of 35,000 BTU/h and 50,000 BTU/h respectively. The Heating Module is selected based on the heat load requirements of the installation. Both Heating Modules feature ITR’s patented low pressure, low emission diesel burner and the larger version additionally incorporates twin 120 VAC electric elements versus a single element for supplemental heating. The CH-50 has a 8.2 US gallon tank and the CH-35 has a 4.8 US gallon tank. Both units are controlled by a state-of-the-art proprietary controller that is on board.

The second component in the modular heating system is the Oasis Distribution Module. This module contains dual circulation pumps, a Winter/Summer solenoid, an engine interface heat exchanger and a domestic water heat exchanger as well as an anti-scald valve for the domestic water function. The module is controlled by a circuit board that provides 5 heating zones, four of which will support a 5 amp load and the fifth supporting a 10 amp load. The board also controls the engine heat control and domestic hot water control. The module is compact, measuring 12” high, 16” long and 6” deep. The module functions as the distribution device for the Oasis Heating Module and an on demand water heater.

The Oasis Modular Heating System has several distinct advantages over the old concept that uses a “one size fits all” approach. The Oasis System allows separation of the heat source and the distribution device resulting in the most efficient use of space and makes an easier installation. The end result is an RV diesel hydronic heating system with minimal weight, minimal impact on valuable storage space and maximized efficiency of installation.

                                                                                                         

 

Advantages of Hydronic Heating versus Forced Air

 

• Continuous supply of domestic hot water
• Can use engine waste heat in the system while traveling, saving energy and money
• Can pre-heat the engine in the winter
• Direct venting through the side of the coach is no longer needed adding to the esthetic beauty of the coach
• Even and quiet source of heat
• Separate thermostatically controlled space heating zones
• Hydronic heating does not cause large temperature swings and the removal of moisture out of the air which can dry out the skin and nasal passages
• Air temperature is not lost through ducting but maintained with the use of coolant
• Electric 120 VAC supplemental heat is available saving fuel costs when on shore power
• Hydronic heating systems can heat the storage bays and thereby indirectly keeping the water tanks heated
• The motorhome retains more of its original value – Higher return when you sell or trade

 

 

Advantages of Diesel versus Propane

 

• Diesel from the engine fuel tank allows you to run the heat for MANY more hours than a typical on-board supply of propane
• Ease of refueling, (100 - 200 gallons of diesel, compared to 30-40 of propane)
• Propane is then used only for the refrigerator and cooking and lasts a LONG time.
• LP gas leaks can create dangerous situations
• Diesel heating is less expensive than propane on a per BTU basis. Diesel fuel offers nearly 140,000 BTU per gallon, compared to 91,000 BTU for propane.
