The WaterHeater by
ITR is a diesel-fired, 120 VAC supplemented, dedicated domestic hot
water heating unit that provides both continuous output and storage
of hot water. The heater is compact in size, has an integrated 5.5 US
gallon stainless steel holding tank, and is designed to be a direct
replacement for a storage-only type water heater.
On demand hot water heater
The patented diesel-fired ITR burner combines efficiency with an extremely
clean burn. The unit also incorporates a supplementary 1500W 120VAC
electric element for use when the diesel burner is not desired and shore
power is available. When the diesel burner is operating, a continuous
output of domestic hot water with a temperature rise of 52 degrees Fahrenheit
at a flow rate of 1.5 GPM is available. To eliminate the diesel burner
from running in low consumption periods as well as for the electric
element to heat water when AC power is available, about 5 gallons of
domestic hot water is stored in a holding tank. So
therefore the WaterHeater by ITR is technically not a tankless water
heater.
ITR has taken this innovative idea one step further by designing a complementary,
extremely compact, Space Heating Module (SHM) that allows the WaterHeater
to perform a third function of space heating. Using the SHM, the user
can have the best of both worlds, endless domestic hot water as well
as sufficient output, approximately 14,000 BTU/h, to heat over 1,000
cubic feet in the chilliest conditions. No plumbing or electrical changes
are necessary to the WaterHeater as all connections have already been
designed into the heater itself. The SHM provides the heat by using
the domestic water of the WaterHeater as a heat source and then isolating
it for the space heating function with a stainless steel heat exchanger.
The resulting space heating output is controllable by its own separate
zone thermostat.
